Factory to target fender liners for automotives market

Otsuka has constructed a new factory for needlepunch nonwoven fabric in Japan, which has been in operation since April 2022. The production capacity of the new factory is 2.4 million square meters per year. The company is a major manufacturer of the needlepunched nonwoven fabric, and more than 90% of its products are sold to the automotive market.

The new factory specializes in nonwoven materials for fender liner material and production there should be fully optimized by the third quarter, dependent on conditions in the market, which are now being challenged by semiconductor shortages.
